Weight factors
Contact: Dorly Deeg
Description
Previously, data files (LASA005) were used to indicate the possible weight factors in the LASA-cohorts. This has been replaced by methods which enable you to calculate your own estimates.
You can weight your sample for two different reasons:
- To get descriptive estimates that are representative of the population of the Netherlands in a specific year; this is termed ‘external weighting’ (>>SPPS-setup, in PDF-format).
- To compare LASA-waves or LASA-cohorts with one another, for example when estimating trends over time; this is termed ‘internal weighting’ (>>SPSS-setup, in PDF-format).
