Description

Between 2016 and 2019, a LASA ancillary study was performed among respondents aged 75 years and over (75 PLUS study), with increased density of measurement (every 9 months). The interviews for the 75 PLUS study contained a selection of measures from regular LASA measurement waves. Some measures were shortened or replaced by shorter questionnaires. For physical activity, the usual measure (LAPAQ, LASA046) was replaced by a 1-item question on daily physical activity.

The question was as follows:
We would like to know for how many days per week you are physically active for at least half an hour. Daily activities that do not require much effort, such as reading a newspaper, watching television, doing the dishes or car driving do not count as physical activity. Activities that count as physical activity include: sport activities and daily activities that require some physical exercise, such as walking to the mailbox, gardening, biking to the supermarket, or heavy household tasks, such as vacuum cleaning, mopping the floor, and grocery shopping.
So, how many days per week are you physically active for at least half an hour?
